Every year colour experts Pantone predict the colour of the year. This is the colour that will most influence our lives in terms of household trends, fashion packaging and industrial design.

This year the company has, unusually, chosen two colours: Ultimate Grey and Illuminating Yellow

Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute, said:

‘The union of enduring Ultimate Grey with the vibrant yellow Illuminating expresses a message of positivity supported by fortitude. Practical and rock solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, this is a colour combination that gives us resilience and hope. We need to feel encouraged and uplifted, This is essentially the human spirit.’

Both grey and yellow work well in the bathroom either as individual colours or combined together. You can add splashes of these colours with bright towels and accessories or, for real impact, change the colour of your bath.
